We started our unit on Equivalent Fractions today. Please remind your student that whatever you do to the top, you have to do to the bottom to make it equivalent. A lot of them were trying to do "Butterfly Method" which is not what our focus is right now.
Possible answers for Monday night's homework.... 2. 4/6 & 8/12 3. 2/4 & 4/8 4. 8/10 & 80/100 5. = 6. ≠ 7. = 8. = 9. = 10. ≠ 11. = 12. ≠ We have begun our unit on factors and multiples. We will start fractions next week.
Factors are the numbers that you multiply to get a product while multiples are the product of a number and a counting number. Factor pairs are the two factors that give you the product. Factors of 12: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 Factor pairs of 12: 1 & 12, 2 & 6, 3 & 4 Multiples of 12: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 The following is How to Classify a Triangle Using SIDE Lengths ![]() Isosceles triangle - a triangle with two equal sides ![]() Scalene triangle - a triangle with NO equal sides ![]() Equilateral triangle - a triangle with all 3 equal sides The following is How to Classify Triangles Using Angle Measurements ![]() Obtuse triangle - a triangle with an obtuse angle ![]() Acute triangle - a triangle with all three angles are acute ![]() Right triangle - a triangle that has a 90 degree angle Answers for January 27th homework, Lesson 11:
1. 40; 40 2. 45, 315; 315 3. 115*+ 100* + 145*(order does not matter)= 360*; 145 4. 135*+ 145*+ 80*(order does not matter)= 360*; 80* 5. Equations may be different. e* = 145*; f*= 35* Possible equations: 35* + e* =180* 145* + f* = 180* 6. Equations may be different. g* = 125*; h* = 125*; i* = 55* Possible equations: 55* + g* =180* 55* + h* = 180* i* + g*(your answer for g*) = 180* 7. Equations may be different. j*=44*; k*= 46*; m*=134* Possible equations: m* + 46* = 180* k* +134* = 180* j* + 90* + 46*(k*) + 46* + 134*(m*) = 360* or 46* + 90* + j* = 180* We are working on using arrays and partial products to solve division problems. Here is a quick lesson from LearnZillion about it.
